A month after her meeting with Priyanka Vadra, Nalini Murugan, convicted in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination plot, has moved the Madras High Court for early release.

Priyanka had described the meeting as deeply personal and her way of coming to peace with the violence and loss she had experienced when her father was assassinated.

Nalini's death sentence was commuted to a life term on the intervention of Sonia Gandhi after she delivered a baby in prison.
