India against Corruption (IAC), a citizen's movement, has planned to organise a public meeting in Sector 34 on Sunday to garner the support of residents of Sohna Road and nearby areas.
Around 100 people are expected to turn up for the meet. On June 26, around 100 people registered their support for Anna Hazare, who has resolved to go on a hunger strike from August 16 if the Lokpal Bill doesn't become an act, in a meeting in Sector 56.
Besides, some high-profile activists, local councillor Nisha Singh will attend the meet. They will discuss various means to spread awareness among the masses — apart from using electronic media and social networking sites. They will also chalk out the possibilities of achieving success through 'Gandhigiri'.
People will be urged to work towards the betterment of society. The gathering will be encouraged to join the fight against corruption and make the government realise the power of people.
Besides, IAC volunteers will distribute pamphlets and motivate people to download the same from their website.
"The IAC wants people to contribute their time, ideas and money towards this cause and strengthen the movement. The meeting will enlighten the masses with the two different drafts on the Jan Lokpal Bill — the government's version and Anna Hazare's demand. Nobody is aware of the government's draft of the bill as it has not been made public. We want more and more people to join the fight and Annaji's fast on August 16 at Jantar Mantar," said Ashutosh, an IAC volunteer.
