Designer Ranna Gill, known for her mastery over print and colour display, is all set to showcase her
collection that targets youngsters at the upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week (WIFW) here Oct 15-19.
"Nirvana will appeal to the hip and young across the globe. It is a versatile and smart collection that will garner popular appeal," Gill said at the preview of her spring/summer collection here Monday.
"This collection is all about colours and femininity with interesting bead work and my signature style-print," she added.
Gill constructs this collection in vivid tones. The line has day dresses, evening wear, beach-friendly kaftans and bathing suits in shades of jade, aqua, purple, orange, fuchsia and mustard.
Interesting use of prints add vitality to this collection. Unique geometric prints like Tangier, Henna and Marrakesh give the collection a different feel.
Talking about the USP of her line, Gill told IANS: "This is a super sexy summer collection that is wearable, fresh and modern."
The collection has meticulous detailing with coloured stones and petit point embroideries. Embellishments are minimal and bead work dominates the line. Besides, the designer has replaced straps with ropes that make this line very chic.
"A lot of dori works, big gems dominate this line that gives it a very contemporary feel. I have also paid attention to back details, it is very stylish," Gill explained.
According to the designer, it took her just two months to come up with this collection and there was not a single moment where she was nervous or doubted her theme.
"Everything went in a flow, there was not even a single moment where I doubted the way my collection was turning up. It all went smooth and I am happy with the end result," Gill quipped.
Gill forayed into the fashion business when she launched her label Ranna in 1996. Her signature style is uncluttered and beautiful that results in work that is special each time.
