Two BSF jawans were sacked from service and sent to jail on Wednesday afternoon for allegedly raping a 40-year-old married woman in Chak Maksudia village under Ahraulla police station. After hearing about the incident, commandant of BSF HS Siddhu immediately took action and and after a preliminary inquiry terminated both the jawans from service.

According to reports, three BSF jawans including accused Rakesh Singh and Harendra of 133 Battalion were camping with their unit for election purposes near the village. All of them approached the house of rickshaw puller Adalati Ram and asked for toddy. One of the jawans left with Adalati to get the toddy while the remaining two waited for them to come back.

In the meantime, both these culprits observed that the place was deserted and sensing an opportune moment molested the wife of the rickshaw puller, Lal Mati Devi.

Later on the next day, the woman along with the villagers reported the matter to the district administration. Police and higher officials including the DM and SP rushed to the spot. Later BSF commandants also carried out a preliminary inquiry and when it was found to be true, both the jawans were taken into custody and sent to jail. They were later dismissed from service.
