Rathore qualifies for 2008 Olympics

The other two Indians in the event disappointed. R Sodhi finished 22nd with 130 points while V Chopra came 31st with 126.

Olympic silver medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Sunday won a berth for the 2008 Olympics by winning a gold medal in the men's double trap event at the ISSF World Cup at Cairo.

Rathore finished with 137 points out of 150 in the qualifying rounds, and then shot a 45 in the final for a 182 total score.

Hu Binyuan of China took the silver medal after beating Mashfi Almutairi of Kuwait in a shoot-off.

The other two Indians in the event disappointed. Ronjan Sodhi finished 22nd with a tally of 130 while Vikram Chopra only managed 31st position with 126.
