It seems that the Ashmit-Riya MMS is taking its toll on actress Riya Sen. SMSs like 'Will you be my time pass?' have really vexed the sexy siren. Every week she gets more than 3000 messages on her mobile from obsessed fans!
"It's really annoying. I get around 1000s such messages every week. There are very few who have words of praise for my acting skills. Few do talk about my movies but most of my fans just message me out of fun and mischief. I am really bored of reading words like 'time pass' and 'dating diva' or my kind of women," says Riya.
Initially when Riya started getting such messages on her cell, she found it difficult to avoid. Then she had to become a little tactful. Says she, "Nowadays I keep two mobiles. One which is my personal one and whose number is with my near and dear ones and the other one is almost like the public phone. All messages of my fans come on my second mobile, because this one hassomehow got widely circulated. I keep it switched off most of the time but when I feel the need to entertain myself I switch it on.
I know what kind of messages people send me. Though I expect people to praise my work and my performance yet they seem to be dying to date me. Quite often it irritates me when I get hundreds and thousands of message with a desire saying, 'I will be the most fortunate person in the world if you can become my time pass.'"
And it's not just youngsters who send such cheesy SMSs to Riya! To the surprise of many, people as old as 50 send such voyeuristic messages to the stunner. So while others actresses are flooded with marriage offers, Riya seems to be the hot favorite 'time pass' for her fans. One may easily call this the Asmit-Riya MMS effect. Isn't it?
