Rave party: Russian musician among 6 held in Kochi

The Kerala Police arrested a prominent Russian musician and five others from a star hotel in Kochi in the early hours of Monday for possessing a drug nick-named ‘Russian Secret’.

Following a tipoff Kochi police raided the night party and arrested musician Vasily Markelov aka Psykovsky and five others. Psykovsky (36),a psytrance producer, is the author of many music albums including ‘Tantrumm Records’ and ‘Temple Twister.’

The drug is believed to be a concoction of various narcotic substances like marijuana and hashish. The drug mixture is legal in Russia but In India it comes under banned substances.

Besides visa violations the musician was charged under various sections of the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act, said Kochi police commissioner K G James. The party was organized by a Bangalore-based event management firm.
