Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt wants the music composer duo Nadeem Shravan to work together for the Mohit Suri-directed sequel of the 2002 superhit Raaz.
According to Shravan, “Bhatt saab called Nadeem and told him of his plans of making the sequel. Raaz was a super-hit at the box-office, and so was the music. Bhatt saab told him that he wanted both of us to compose the music for the sequel as well. Nadeem agreed.”
“That’s when Nadeem called me up to update me on his conversation with Bhatt saab,” he adds. The last time the duo worked together was for Suneel Darshan’s Dosti – Friends Forever (2005), featuring Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol.
Though the cast for the sequel is yet to be finalised, Shravan says, “There are chances that Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu may play the lead.” Bhatt was busy in a meeting and unavailable for comment, so was Suri.
The composers will be working together from different places, though. While Nadeem will work from London, Shravan will work from Mumbai.
“We’ve been associated for 30 years now, so there won’t be any problem collaborating again,” says Shravan. He also said that if the duo got more offers to compose music together, they were ready for jugal bandi.
The duo has already started their work. Reluctant to divulge any further details about the kind of music Shravan says, “It’s too early to go into details but it will have the NadeemShravan trademark melody.”
After their split, Nadeem had forayed into the perfume business, while Shravan had ventured into film production.
Shravan’s first films is Basu Chatterjee directed Kuchh Khatta Kuchh Meetha and B H Tharun Kumar-directed Kaash aap Mere Hote.
His sons Sanjeev-Darshan are composing the music for both the films.
After the release of these two films this summer, Shravan will begin his third production Jannat.
