THE RADHARAMAN College of Pharmacy (RCP) continued its winning spree on Friday and defeated Patel College in the RGPV Nodal Cricket Tournament being organised at RITS grounds by four runs. Oriental College defeated Sagar Institutes in the earlier match. The tournament is being organised by RITS under the mega festival VIHAN-07.

In the first match, Oriental College dominated the Sagar Institutes. After winning the toss, Oriental College scored a mammoth 190 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of six wickets.

The swashbuckling innings of 75 runs by Akshat Sharma entertained the gathering. Mukesh claimed three wickets for Sagar Institutes. Sagar Institutes responded well at the start of the chase.
But the failure of the batsmen in the slog overs took the win away from the team. Oriental bowlers restricted Sagar Institutes to 156. Akshat Sharma claimed two wickets. He was declared man of the match.

The second match, played between RCP and Patel College produced a thriller. RCP skipper Yogendra Rai called right at the toss. Repeating the decision of the previous matches, he decided to bat first.

However, batsmen faltered this time and set only a 106-run target for the Patel College. Yogendra contributed 35 runs.
Chasing a small target, Patel College lost wickets at regular intervals. However, ones and twos helped the team reach close to the target.

But the smart strategy of skipper Yogendra of regularly changing bowlers helped the team in winning the match by four runs. Patel College were all out for 101 runs. Yogendra was declared man of the match.

Former international hockey players Dr A R Siddiqui presented man of the match trophies. Dr J L Rana and others were present, on the occasion.
