REC, RKDF enter next round

RADHARAMAN ENGINEERING College (REC) and RKDF registered convincing win in their respective matches played in the RGPV Nodal Cricket Tournament on Thursday. The tournament is being organised by Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science (RITS) under its mega festival VIHAN-07.

Batting first, RKDF scored 148 runs in the stipulated 25 overs against VNS College. The attraction of the first innings was a splendid 57 runs scored by Rahul Singh.  Chasing the target, VNS batsmen scored runs with the asking run rate of six runs per over but the regular fall of wickets posed problems in reaching the target. VNS fell short by 34 runs.
Sunil Yadav’s five-wicket haul saw the team restricting VNS to 114 runs. Sunil Yadav was declared the man of the match.
In the second match, REC thumped JNCT by six wickets. After winning the toss, JNCT opted to bat first. The sloppy batting restricted the team’s total to 103 runs. REC dominated the opponents in every department of the match. Rohit Shrivastava’s disciplined bowling attack helped him claim four wickets.

In reply, Ashish Pandey and Satyam made the target easy by scoring 41 and 37 runs respectively. With the help of their good innings, REC won the match by six wickets. Satyam was declared the man of the match.

RGI chairman RR Saxena presented the man of the match trophies. Director RGI Dr JL Rana, RITS director LD Balani and others were present on the occasion.
