Red makes way for music videos
The Vikram Bhatt film will take a while longer to colour the screens, informs Vajir Singh.india Updated: Jan 22, 2007 13:35 IST
Director Vikram Bhatt’s Red will take a while longer to colour the screens. And it’s all because of the film’s music.
Enthused by the response to the film’s promo currently on air, the film’s producers have postponed its release by two weeks and are planning to air two more promos instead.
“Initially we wanted to release the film on February 9 but now we have postponed it for two weeks,” confirms Sunil Chainani, co-producer with Sameer Srivsatava.
The move is believed to be the brainchild of T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar, who wanted to cash in on the success of the film’s music and promos.
“Bhushan Kumar came up with the idea of making not one but three videos.. so that the film’s music can be promoted to the fullest,” Chainani says.
All the videos will feature the lead trio Aftab Shivdasani, Celina Jaitly and Amrita Arora. Veteran actor Sumit Saigal will direct one video and the remaining two by Shruti, an assistant to director Prashant Chaddha.
Music director Himesh Reshammiya will be absent from the videos. “He and his friend Prashant Chandha are busy with their first film,” says Chainani, adding, “We’re indebted to Himesh for his rocking score for our film.”
Chainani and Srivastava have also signed Sangeeth Sivan for one of their forthcoming films. “But at the moment our focus is only on Red,” he concludes.
