Here's how you can economise your wedding budget:
Venue matters: Selecting the right venue for your wedding is key to cut costs. If you are getting married in the city where you live, try and get a venue close to your residence, even if it means paying a little extra. Also, book the venue atleast six to eight months in advance so that you don’t have to settle for a high rentals at the last minute.
Food: Always choose a caterer that has a lot of positive recommendation. While deciding the items, do not add too much to the menu as it not only increases your costs but also results in wastage of food.
Decor: People often combine more than one theme in order to get a perfect theme for the day. This can be quite heavy on the pocket. Instead opt for one theme that can liven up the entire décor.
Invitation card: Wedding invitation is one such area where you can cut your costs immensely. Keep it simple. Print in limited numbers for special guests, and send e-cards to the rest. It’s the age of emails after all!
Other costs: Transporting guests to and fro and accommodating out of town guests is usually the most under- budgeted cost of weddings. Insist on getting rooms at the wedding venue itself.
