A Pakistani national died of ailments in a government medical hospital in Jammu as his repeated attempts to return to his country failed.
Moosa Ahmed of Bhimber area of PoK breathed his last on Thursday and his wish to see his loved ones remained unfulfilled as Pakistani authorities rejected his repatriation request thrice during the last 23 years.
Moosa was arrested by the Indian forces in 1983 along the LoC and was slapped with Foreigner's Act and sent to jail, police officials said.
After completing his 3-year jail term, he was sent along with other detainees for repatriation to Pakistan via Wagah border in Amritsar.
However, his request was turned down by Pakistani authorities and was returned back.
Similarly 2002 and 2007, he was again sent for repatriation but Pakistan refused to take him.
Moosa became mentally unstable over the years due to repeated refusals of Pak authorities and was hospitalised last week in GMC and died yesterday, government medical college staff said.
Miles away from his home in PoK, Moosa was buried in Jammu graveyard after postmortem today.
