Reliance extends mobile service to Goa

Reliance Communication on Saturday announced extension of their mobile GSM services to Goa, which will be in addition to their existing CDMA base in this state.

Reliance Communication on Saturday announced extension of their mobile GSM services to Goa, which will be in addition to their existing CDMA base in this state.

Akshay Kumar, Regional Head (Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Kerala) claimed that the coverage and capabilities of Reliance GSM would be much better compared to the rest.

He said having reached the milestone of 100 million customers in the country, the company has its next target set for another 100 million in the next 1000 days.

"While we have launched GSM service, we will continue to offer unique offering to CDMA subscribers," Kumar told mediapersons today.

He said that reliance mobile GSM subscriber can choose from any simply reliance tariff plans offering that reiterate the commitment the company gave with No conditions, no monthly recharge and any STD and any network anytime benefits.

"We are the first operator in Goa to offer SMS at a price as low as one paise per SMS at a low entry cost of Rs 11 per month," Ravi Santhanam, Circle Head – Maharashtra and Goa, said.

Kumar said the company delayed their launch in Goa due to stringent licencing rules in place here.
