The Crime Branch is contemplating handing over the remains of former Synergy Adlabs executive Neeraj Grover to his parents in the first week of July.

Grover was allegedly murdered by Kannada actress Maria Monica Susairaj and her fiancé Emile Jerome Mathew on May 7.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria told Hindustan Times on Friday that Neeraj's parents would be informed within a couple of days that they could claim his remains, which had been preserved at the JJ Hospital morgue. Grover’s parents live in Kanpur.

Grover’s father Amarnath had earlier refused to accept the remains, alleging discrepancies in the police investigation.

Maria said that the body had been kept preserved till now as the forensic investigation into the murder was still being conducted.

The forensic reports were obtained on Thursday, signalling the completion of the scientific probe.

Grover’s remains were recovered from the Manor jungles by a Crime Branch team.

According to the police, Grover’s body was cut into several pieces by Mathew, who killed him with a kitchen knife at Susairaj’s rented flat in Malad on May 7.
