FOR SPs of district who are perpetually crying about shortage of force, DGP A R Pawar has a word of advice, rather an order – remove the forces that are now doing unimportant duties like standing guard at the houses of senior police and
administrative officials and press them where they are needed.

According to information, at any given time in Indore there are at least 30 to 50 personnel who are doing guard duty at any given time, and going by the order of the DGP they will be removed from their present duties. This order is likely to ruffle a few feathers in the bureaucracy since having an armed guard is seen as a matter of prestige and power, and moreover no one wants to give up anything that comes for free.

Indore SP Anshuman Yadav confirmed that they have received the order around three or four days ago. “We are implementing it here, as of now the night guards from the SP and the IG bungalows have been removed and pressed into other services.”
