Residents raise funds for education of girls

Spartan Walkers from Gurgaon has joined Oxfam India in its efforts to raise funds for the development of the girl child in the country.

Spartan Walkers, a group with four members, will participate in the company’s signature fundraising event Oxfam Trailwalker, which is a popular team challenge and is scheduled to happen in the country for the first time from February 10-12 on a trail starting from Sangam, Mekedatu to Eagleton, Bidadi near Bengaluru.

Over 60 teams have already registered for the challenge event. Teams are adopting different ways to raise funds like making posters, online appeals and the community fundraising event that Spartan Walkers have embarked upon.

Spartan Walkers organised a community fund raising event for Oxfam Trailwalker on Saturday at The Club House, World Spa (East), Sector 30, Gurgaon.

Members Gautam Gulati (51), Ranjan Pal (53), Sameer Prasad (41) and Sudhanshu Pant (48) are supporting the mission of educating girl children in India. Speaking on behalf of the team, Ranjan Pal, said, “As fathers, brothers, husbands and sons, we four friends, who live at the World Spa, have come together to walk for a cause — the cause of educating the girl child.”
