It is for the first time in past 10 years that residents of the Millennium City are compelled to live without power. Last week, they faced blackouts for 12-14 hours daily. The prolonged outages have made residents demand a dedicated power plant for the district.

They alleged that the state government earned 47% of its total revenue from Gurgaon. But when it came to facilities, the city does not get even 10% of its share. However Amit Aggarwal, MD of DHBVN, said, "We have been supplying 20-22 hours of power to the city from Wednesday despite odd situations in the state. However, I would not like comment on the issue of a dedicated power plant for Gurgaon."
