The management of NHPC's Dulhasti power station has cautioned residents of Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban districts not to venture too close to the Chenab river from 10 pm on June 25 to 8 pm on June 26 as the dam's reservoir gates would be opened for periodical flushing. In a press handout, the management warned that the river's water level might rise temporarily during this period.

Peole living near the downstream areas have also been told to refrain from bringing their cattle, trucks and tippers near the river banks to avoid any mishap.

It added any one not heeding the warning would be doing so at his own risk and responsibility and NHPC or the management of the power station would not be responsible for any consequences.
