It’s the second annual edition of the city’s hottest culinary awards — the HT City Crystals People’s Choice Awards 2010 — and nominated restaurants are leaving no stone unturned to woo their clients. After all, it’s their votes that will decide which among the 200 restaurants in 20 cuisine categories and 27 nightspots in the Best Bar category will take top spot.
There’s a trip to Bangkok on the cards for those who cast their ballot in favour of either Q’ba or Spice by Q’ba, for instance. The restaurant has posted a fancy notice on Facebook that reads: ‘Vote for us... if we win, you may win a ticket to Bangkok!’
On the same website, there’s a special ‘event’ calling fans to ‘Please vote for The Love Hotel and ai’. And, says owner AD Singh, “We’ve posters at all our restaurants asking people to vote... or to give feedback if they don’t feel the restaurants are up to the mark.”
Here’s how you can vote for your favourite restaurant or bar. Today and the week after, we will feature the nominees, along with our reviews. You can vote in three simple ways — by SMS, by logging on to our website, or by filling out a form and depositing it in a box at the nominated restaurants. Voting will end at midnight on October 10. Winners will be declared in an awards ceremony in mid-October.
In today’s edition, we look at nominees in the European, Italian, Central and South American, Bistro/Diner/Deli and Bakery/Patisserie categories.
