Salman Khan’s first night at the central jail in Jodhpur was restless. He slept late and woke up early on Sunday to a breakfast of grams, gud and tea. Dinner on Saturday was lauki and chapatis.
The actor participated in morning prayers with the other inmates but kept to himself, sources said. A routine health check was also carried out and he was found to be fit.
Salman was lodged in barrack number 1.5 following his arrest on Saturday, after he lost his appeal against his conviction for poaching a chinkara. He has the barrack, and its lone fan, to himself due to security reasons. He is not allowed food from outside. The only concession: he can wear his own clothes for now. “He might be a celebrity for others but for us, he is an ordinary prisoner,” said jail superintendent Ota Ram Rohen.
In the afternoon, Salman had something to cheer about as he was allowed to meet girlfriend Katrina Kaif, brother Arbaaz and sister Alvira.
The three arrived in Jodhpur with Salman’s other sister Arpita. Visiting hours were over by the time they got there but Rohen permitted three of them to see the prisoner later.
