A two-inch wide ribbon can add oodles of style to you outfit. Following the trend this season, you can see people wearing ribbons everywhere from runways to streets. Many designers’ collections in Mumbai and Delhi featured clothes with ribbons in abundance. Strands of satin ribbon look fantastic tied at the side as a low-slung belt. The ribbon is said to have originated in France, but now Japan is leading in the production of the high-quality ribbons.
Here are few ways to add zing to your style.
Ribbons can be worn as belts. A wide ribbon can be worn as an Obi sash around the upper waist to make you look slender.
If you are bored of your old skirt, add a thin ribbon to the hemlines.
Ribbons on lapels or sleeves can add a touch of softness to trench coats.
Make a bow out of the ribbon and wear it as a brooch on you coat or as a bow tie.
Tie it in a bow at the back of a dress to perk up your plain coat.
Take inspiration from old-school retro pins, pearls and chunky beads, tie or thread them onto ribbon or cord to create your very own range of accessories.
Make a bow, then glue it onto a headband or pin it to a bag.
Add some satin ribbon to your clutch bag to give it a stylish look.
Ribbons in stilettos and ballerinas add style to the shoes.
