The 49.50 acres of land nestled in the residential area of Hari Nagar is a place not known by many. Even most residents are unaware of this Jheel Udyan and the boating there.
Call it disregard by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or lack od awareness, this beautifully landscaped park doesn’t enjoy the popularity that it deserves. Once you get there, you will know why.
The place is a rage among sports lovers — cricket or football. Youngsters can be seen lugging their sport kits heading for the park at sunrise. Many simply visit the park for the pleasure of boating.
The lake is about 8.20acres of the total area. If in a mood to glide across the lake in elegance, try the swan boats in colours like blue, pink and yellow. Boating can be done on all days from 11am till 6 in the evening except on Wednesdays.
If you are health-conscious and need your daily dose of a stimulating walk, you have found the right place. With the cool breeze blowing from the lake and the greenery around, it is the perfect setting to get your nerves tingling with life and vitality.
The spot is without a doubt a nice place to go with family and friends— a place to relax, take out a book to read or gazing into the lake. Whether it is a hearty session of football or cricket, or a lazy stroll, the lake has the potential of a great hangout, but without maintainence by the authorities.
It lacks the order and cleanliness many of the Capital’s parks do. Entry fees to this lake is Rs 50. And the Tilak Nagar Market is nearby for those who enjoy shopping and great food.
