The growing rift among the board members of National Cricket Academy (NCA) came out in the open with a senior official questioning the “restructuring policy” of the academy.
Biswarup Dey questioned the “lackadaisical attitude” of the committee members at a time when NCA’s working policy is set to be entirely revamped. “The way it is being run now is very disappointing. No one has any clue about how the restructuring is being done. There was supposed to be a meeting in June and we are now at the end of July,” Dey, who is the treasurer of Cricket Association of Bengal, said.
Dey also questioned as to what BCCI’s game development manager Ratnakar Shetty was doing as he was to set up the new module.
When asked, Shetty said: “The chairman of the NCA board (Ranjib Biswal) was in England with the India team and that’s why the meeting couldn’t be slotted.” Dey though, was not ready to buy that. “The NCA has a vice-chairman (Sunil Dev) who is authorised to conduct meetings,” he said.
