The Imphal River in the heart of the Manipur capital complex was flowing much above danger level due to incessant rain in the past four days, official sources said on Wednesday.

Though the levels of other major rivers were flowing much below the danger mark, Imphal River was flowing much higher than danger level because of heavy rains at the origin of the river.

Flood control department officials said steps were being taken to prevent leakage of water at weak embankment areas here.
