Opposition RJD on Wednesday took strong exception to Jharkhand Assembly Speaker CP Singh joining the parade of MLAs before Governor MOH Farook when BJP leader Arjun Munda staked claim to form the government at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
"How can a Speaker put in his signature and join the parade of MLAs at Raj Bhavan? It belittled the dignity of the constitutional post," RJD state unit general secretary Manohar Yadav told newsmen.
"The Speaker must have forgotten how former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had refused to abide by the CPI(M) directive during the trust vote on civil nuclear deal in 2008," he said.
Singh was among the 44 MLAs who were physically present at the Raj Bhavan and put in his signature of support in the 45-MLA list submitted by Munda in support of his claim to form the government.
Farook had last night sent a report to the Centre recommending revocation of President's rule, clamped on June 1 after putting the assembly under suspended animation.
Meanwhile, JMM president Shibu Soren has invited the MLAs of the renewed allies at his residence for tea. Munda and AJSU president Sudesh Mahto were among the leaders who visited the veteran tribal leader's residence here.
