Probably for the first time since its inception, the RJD on Wednesday celebrated its foundation day sans party president Lalu Prasad and his wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi.
With Lalu-Rabri remaining absent, except for state party president Abdul Bari Siddiqui many other senior RJD leaders also kept off from the day-long function in Patna.
Siddiqui also did not address the function and only listened to the views of district leaders and workers.
The speakers kept spitting venom against the Nitish Kumar government charging it with "failing" on all fronts.
A political resolution was passed on the occasion charging the NDA government in the state with "failure" at every front and alleged that in the past six months 4197 murder, 1193 rape, 1182 kidnapping and 5021 cases of loot and dacoities were reported.
"The figures brings truth of Nitish Kumar's claim of establishing sushasan (good governance) in the state," the RJD resolution said.
In an another resolution, the RJD accused the NDA government of "harassing" party MP Mohammad Shahabuddin and "ignoring" his health problem.
It also charged the state government with adopting a discriminatory attitude by removing policemen hailing from minority community from the MP's security.
The party also expressed concern over "poor plight of farmers in the state due to failure of the Nitish Kumar government to execute programmes for their welfare".
