RK Singh is BHEL ED

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Power Sector (Western Region), Nagpur RK Singh will be the new Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal unit. He will replace PT Deo who is retiring on January 24. The BHEL corporate management has confirmed Singh’s appointment. This announcement has dashed hopes of two other aspirants in the race for the top spot - S N Daga and K K Mehrotra. 

Hindustan Times in its January 6 edition had reported the possibility of Singh’s prospects as next ED. Singh is no stranger to the BHEL Bhopal unit.

He started his career from Bhopal. After completing his BE (Electrical) Singh joined BHEL, Bhopal as engineering trainee in November 1970. Later, he was transferred to the Jhansi unit and elevated to the post of General Manager (Transformer) in June 1997. He was transferred to Bhopal in 2001 and then to Kolkata and Nagpur.

The new ED has his task cut out, as he will have to ensure that the company meets production target in March end.   SCR General Manager K K Mehrotra posted in the Bhopal unit has been shifted to Nagpur. Mehrotra will take over charge of PSWR, Nagpur from Singh.
