RLD open to alliance: Ajit Singh

india Updated: Oct 29, 2006 00:55 IST

PRESIDENT OF Rashtriya Lok Dal, Chaudhary Ajit Singh said on Saturday that the RLD might sew election alliance with the Congress, Samajwadi Party or Jan Morcha.

“All options are open for RLD”, he said at Babatpur Airport before leaving for Jaunpur here today. He added the alliance with the SP was established after the last Assembly elections but this time the party would form pre-poll election alliance with any of the parties stated above.

Chaudhary Ajit Singh asserted that RLD was in favour of smaller states like Purvanchal, Harit Pradesh and Bundelkhand. He said lack of communication between the government and common people was the main reason behind increasing criminal activities in UP.

He said till the year 1990, UP stood first or third in development, but now it was rated as the 20th state in development.

He predicted that no political party would get majority in the forthcoming Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh.
