An incident of road rage on a Faridabad road late on Friday night left over half a dozen persons injured.

The event occurred when more than a dozen motorcycle-borne youth, armed with lathis and sharp-edged weapons, barged into a shop and beat all those who were present inside.

Police have registered a case against over a dozen persons under different provisions of the IPC. No arrests, however, had been made till the time the last reports came in.

According to police, the reason behind the violence was a dispute that had occurred between two men, driving different vehicles, on Friday night.

"I was shocked to see around a dozen youth barge inside my shop with lathis and weapons and then beat all those inside," said Ajay Kumar, owner of the shop, adding, "The goons were following my relative, Prince, who was driving an Endeavor car."

"I later came to know that Prince and a Maruti car driver had entered into a verbal dual over some issue near Tikona Park, after which the man driving the Maruti had called some goons who came to my shop and beat everyone up," Kumar added.

Three of Kumar's relatives - Rajinder Bhatia, Rajeev and Prince - have been admitted to a private hospital.

Soon after the incident, traders came on road and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.

Meanwhile, police registered a case under sections 148, 149,323, 452, 506 of IPC against a dozen persons. "The injured persons are not in a position to give us a statement right now. We will only be able to identify the accused once they get better," said Ashok Kumar, SHO Kotwali police station.
