A burglar involved in 31 separate cases of loot and robbery in four districts of Saurashtra was arrested Saturday, police said.

Hira Velji was held from Garpakdi village of Babra taluka of the district Saturday morning, they said.

There are two cases of murder, 14 cases of highway loots and ten cases of temple robbery against Velji who allegedly operated in Amreli, Bhavnaga, Rajkot and Junagadh districts in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, police said.

Velji had given police a slip near Lathi town of Amreli district in 2003 when he was being taken to the Gadhada court for a hearing, police added.
