On Thursday, Hari Kumar of Ballabhgarh, along with seven other persons who went to the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) office in Sector-12, Faridabad, were in for a rude shock.

All of them, on returning to their cars, parked just outside the HUDA office, were shocked to see windowpanes of the cars broken and cash and valuables missing.

There were about seven persons from whose cars miscreants took away whatever they liked and walked away without coming to anybody’s notice — all in span of 30 minutes (between 1 and 1.30 pm).

Surprisingly, the HUDA office is a stone’s throw away from the offices of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Administrator HUDA and other offices in the mini-secretariat building in Sec-12.

“I found one of the window panes broken, cash worth Rs 50,000 and the music system missing,” Hari Kumar, another victim told HT.

“Yes, we have received about seven complaints and have registered a single case as the nature of all the complaints is the same,” Ajit Singh, Investigating Officer, Police Station Central said.

“We have taken a serious note of the matter and are trying to nab the culprits involved in today’s incident,” Deputy Commissioner (Central) Shashank Anand said.

However, he added, “The owners of the cars had not parked them in the authorised parking lot.”
