THE TWO-DAY annual robotics festival of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT)-- Robo Fest-2k6- concluded with live exhibits of some of a high technical expertise and acumen in the form of next generation machines.
The day two of the event featured live performances of robots indigenously developed by the participating students.

They were asked to develop robots which could perform according to on-the-spot-given conditions, informed president of the MNNIT Student Activity Centre Prof Rakesh Narain.

The budding engineers came out with an eye-blinding performance in the various challenging contests called autonomous, manual, robo-kids, lego kits and informals.

Each teams were allowed to have maximum three members. In the event Autonomous, the students developed the next generation machines capable of tracking the boundary of a structure. In the Manual event, the students presented the capability and caliber of their indigenously designed robos collecting ball and putting it in the pockets of an artificially created pond.

In the event Lego Mind Stormier, the engineers-in-making displayed their command over the micro precision mechanical parts and programming environment. The prototype of next generation machines like lifters, pathfinders and loaders were displayed.

The team comprising of D Sandeep, VV Ramesh and Y Srinivas Reddy bagged the first prize in the open event while the team with Romesh, Praveen and Devendra managed to bag the second prize. The team comprising of Aushotosh, Devesh Kumar and Avijit Gupta were adjudged third by the panel of judges including Prof PK Mishra, Dr HN Kar and Dr VK Srivastava.

The Lego event was swept away by the dazzling performance of Mamka Narva, Jeren Susan Topno and Suhani Gupta. Director of MNNIT Training and Placement Cell Prof Satish Chandra gave away the prizes to winners in the presence of Prof Rakesh Narain and Dr Khurana.
