RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Thursday claimed that the party has entered into a ‘lifetime´ alliance with Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Ramvilas Paswan and the combine along with Samajwadi Party would play a ‘vital role´ in the country’s politics after the general elections.
“We have taken a lesson from the past. Our (RJD and LJP) going separately to the hustings in the past proved bitter as the communal and fascist forces captured power in Bihar with margins of little over a 1000 votes ... We will not be repeating this mistake,” Prasad told an election rally for Paswan, who filed his papers for Hajipur seat during the day.
Claiming that SP, RJD and LJP would put up a spectacular performance in the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said “we are sure of winning a sizeable number of seats in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar and will prove instrumental in the formation of the next secular government at the Centre”.
Earlier, Paswan accompanied by Prasad and LJP MP Surajbhan submitted his nomination for Hajipur seat to District Magistrate Atish Chandra. Hajipur will go to polls on April 23.
