Goalkeepers might be spewing their venom on the new roundest ball ever developed by sports giant Adidas for this edition’s world cup, but Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho seems to have fallen in love with it.
The Barcelona striker is so enamoured with the way it dips and swerves that he is promising to go great guns against the Australians during their forthcoming league match.
“This ball is great for forwards. It is very hard for the goalkeepers because it is so light and it moves around a lot. We have spoken about it as a squad and believe the best thing we can do is to keep shooting from long range,” said Ronaldinho.
He also expressed his concern over star striker Ronaldo’s form, but added that the hero of the last world cup would come back in form and display his maverick skills with the ball, reports The Sun.
“I am not worried about Ronaldo at all. He still has so much quality — all the players are very confident in him. In this squad, all the players help each other. Once the game starts, mentally we are fine and forget everything else that goes on. I am sure Ronaldo will help us to win the World Cup,” he added.
So far Ronaldo has looked overweight, unfit and even out of form. He was also substituted in team’s previous league match against Croatia, which Brazil won 1-0.
