The teams have started coming to the Capital. Various competitions including single sculls, double sculls, coxless pair, coxless four of 2000m and 500m will be organised during the event.

The department has received boats that are to be used during the National Games. “We will provide boats that are to be used in National Games. It will help the participants to acquaint with these boats”, said Chaudhary. At present, the Sports Department has 26 rowing boats.

About the importance of Open National Championship, MP Rowing Association patron-in-chief A V Singh said that all international standards would be applied in the National Championship.

“Competitions of 2000m which are of the international standards will be organised in the National Championship. However, during National Games competitions are in 1000m only which suggests the importance of National Championship”, said Singh. The championship will conclude on January 21.
