RPF personnel shot dead in Assam

One Railway Protection Force personnel was shot dead and a North East Frontier railway employee injured by Dima Halam Daoga (DHD-Black Widow) group ultras in Assam's North Cachar Hills district.

One Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel was shot dead and a North East Frontier railway employee injured by Dima Halam Daoga (DHD-Black Widow) group ultras in Assam's North Cachar Hills district on Thursday.

The ultras shot dead Maniram Baglary, RPF personnel and injured Anil Del railway trackman near the Langtin police station in North Cachar hill district, police sources said.

The ultras armed with automatic weapons shot at from close range and escaped, sources said.

A manhunt has been launched to nab them.

The injured trackman has been admitted to the Lumding civil hospital, they added.
