The Millennium City’s much-hyped aquarium has everything in it but fish. Built at a cost of Rs 1 crore two years ago, it has all the required paraphernalia, including air conditioners and glass tanks but the authorities are yet to breathe life into it.
Set up by the state fisheries department and Haryana Urban Development Authority at the Millennium Park in Sector 29, the project has run into rough weather, thanks to official apathy.
Government officials said the Marine Engineering and Research Institute was roped in to run the project. But now, the fisheries department plans to lease it out to private sector players as the state government failed to source the personnel or the expertise.
