The Office-of-Profit Bill was re-introduced in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday and will be debated on Wednesday.
The Parliament (Prevention of Disqualification) Amendment Bill had been returned by President APJ Abdul Kalam for reconsideration by both Houses of the Parliament.
The Bill, passed during Parliament's budget session, seeks to exempt 46 posts from the purview of the disqualification law that seeks to bar MPs from holding offices of profit.
Kalam had questioned its retrospective clause and the criteria for exempting various posts, and said that it should be fair, reasonable and transparent.
He pointed out that there was no uniformity across the country in the list of posts exempted from the criteria.
The Bill had been passed by the Lok Sabha on May 16 and by the Rajya Sabha on May 17 in the wake of several petitions to the President seeking disqualification of several MPs, including Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
