The RSS and its affiliates have set up parallel outfits in the United States in pursuance of the agenda of "funding hate" against non-Hindu communities including Christians and Muslims, according to a recently published report of an organisation called the Campaign to Stop Funding Hate.

The US-based Hindu Swayamsevak Sangha (HSS) - a registered tax-exempt charity in the US - is described in the RSS website as an organisation aiming to protect the children of Hindu parents from the "vicious propaganda and conversion techniques of the Christians and Muslims".

Much like the RSS, the HSS holds physical and ideological training sessions and camps and it also has a "Sanghachalak" as its highest office bearer, the report says.

The Washington-based Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) functions as a parallel outfit of the BJP while the VHP of America (VHPA) is the US counterpart of the VHP in India and its work within the professional Indian diasporic community relates to ideological promotion and fund raising activities.

Seeking to establish the linkages, the report describes the Hindu Students Council (HSC) as having an identical structure and mission goals as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

The HSC of America serves to introduce concepts of Hindutva in university spaces, mobilize the diasporic students population around the issues of an embattled Hindu identity and legitimise the Sangha family of organisations as valid representatives of the Hindu community.

The US and Israel-based website called the - the report says - is an official website of the Bajrang Dal that spews venom against Christians and Muslims and frequently calls for violence against certain individuals.

The US-based India Development Relief Fund (IDRF) is described as the funding arm of the RSS for its operations conducted through the platform of the "Sewa Vibhag" - the service wings of the RSS.

"Given the money raised from the diasporic Indian community is critical for sustaining the Sangha operations in India, it is not surprising to note the prominent place the IRDF enjoys in the Sangha hierarchy in the US. It is closely associated with all Sangha outposts in the US including the VHPA, OFBJP, HSS and HSC”, the report says.
