RSS on Friday lashed out at Congress-led UPA government for allegedly launching a propaganda about the existence of Hindu terrorism to bring disrepute to the Sangh parivar outfit.
"UPA government has been carrying out a propaganda of Hindu terrorism under a plot to target RSS," RSS spokesman Ram Madhav said at a symposium on 'Terrorism and Politics' in Motihari.
Congress-led central government was working on a two-pronged agenda to consolidate the vote bank of other religious communities by harping on Hindu terrorism and also to implicate RSS leaders in false cases on terror charges, he said.
The RSS spokesman hit out at the Congress leader Digvijay Singh for spewing venom on Sangh Parivar by claiming that the students of Saraswati Tirth Mandirs (RSS-run schools) were being taught about terrorism apparently under a larger plan to strengthen the network of Hindu terrorism.
"It a propaganda against RSS," he said referring to Singh's allegations.
The UPA government has launched a canard against the RSS in order to divert attention from its mishandling of the 'Jehadi' terrorism and naxalism, he said.
The RSS leader also came down hard on the Naxal insurgency and said as many as 150 Sangh leaders have been killed at the hands of the ultra-left activists.
