Rugby: Orissa clinche double crown

ORISSA MEN and women won the VI Senior National Rugby Football Championship here on Sunday. The meet was organised at Nehru Stadium by the Indian Amateur Rugby Football Federation.

In women’s final, Orissa routed Madhya Pradesh by 10-0. No match for Orissa eves, MP players were outplayed in every department of the game. Last year too, MP was placed second.

In men’s final, Orissa drubbed West Bengal by a hefty margin of 52-2 to lift the coveted trophy. Madhya Pradesh Amateur Rugby Football Association chairman Satin Desai was the chief guest of the function. He distributed prizes to the winners and runners-up while former Olympian Pappu Yadav presided over.
