Does your workplace leave you exhausted and dissatisfied? You should then surely read on to follow simple pointers that we've got for you.

Advertise
Okay so you think that your last project was great. But no one took notice. Stop whining and take it to your superior and mention it to him discreetly. It's after all not charity but professional battlefield. So to play the one-up game is okay. But remember the thin line between being an efficient worker and becoming that irritating guy who's a constant show off.

Build bridges
What do you think lies between you and success? Yes, it's your supervisor. It's not such a bad idea to talk to him often. Hopefully you're blessed with a believer-in-open-door-policy boss. Don't forget your colleagues and teammates. Remember no man is an island and no man stands alone. So be nice to people. Soft skill is the new hard skill.

Diplomacy rules
Office is no space to call a spade a spade. Well not every day and every time. You need to be selective about your enemies. Unless it's an avoidable fracas, don't indulge in one. It never does anyone any good to have a blemish on ones record, especially around appraisal time. So a hi-and-a-hello status quo is advisable with one and all.

Play stoic
No it does not mean that you should continue to work extremely hard and then not expect return. This means that you should put in your effort every day diligently without despair. Even if your boss is blind or prejudiced, you'll continue to grow at least grey-cells wise. And then when you've upgraded your worth for the big bad world, move on to a place where your effort might be appreciated.

Be good
To sum it up, be good at your job. This not only makes you indispensable but also a welcome addition anywhere. So shut that big mouth up which opens ever so often to give global gyan and get a grip on your core skills. The least you can do is justify that thin or fat pay slip that you take home every month to your family.
