The three children who were found at a park in Moti Nagar area of west Delhi staged a drama that their parents had abandoned them. The children left home on their own as they wanted to experience “some adventure” in life.
The parents later came to the “protection home” where the children were kept on Tuesday and took them home. The children have been identified as Khushboo (9), Monica (7) and their neighbour Vikas (6).
The two girls had convinced the boy to accompany them and told the police that they were siblings.
After hearing the news, several people gathered at the protection home and wanted to adopt the children.
On Monday, around 2.30 am, the police received a call that three children were sitting in a park at Moti Nagar.
They were taken to the police station where they told the police that their mother had abandoned them.
“On Tuesday, when the parents came to the protection home they said the children had left home on their own. They had also brought along some utensils. We also found some utensils on them. When we grilled them, they said they wanted to go on a picnic and the bus driver dropped them at Moti Nagar, the last stop,” said a senior police officer.
Initially, the children had even given a false address to the police. “On Monday morning, when we reached the address given by the children, it was found to be wrong. We then sent them to the protection home,” said the officer.
The children even told the police that their parents had indulged in a fight and in a fit of rage their mother had abandoned them.
The family lives in Nangloi, west Delhi. The children had boarded the bus at Nangloi and the bus conductor asked them to get down when its route concluded at Karampura bus terminal near Moti Nagar.
