india Updated: Sep 26, 2006 23:37 IST

A local court on Tuesday sent to four days' judicial remand to four ABVP workers who were arrested in connection with the murder of Professor HS Sabharwal.

The accused workers Vishal Rajoria, Hemant Dube, Sudhir Yadav and Pankaj Mishra were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, RS Madia, who sent them to judicial remand till September 29.

The ABVP workers were later taken to the district jail by the police.

The other two accused, former ABVP office bearers Shashiranjan Singh Akela and Vimal Tomar, are already in jail under judicial remand till September 29, Ujjain Inspector General of Police Anil Kumar said.

The state CID probing the murder of Professor Sabharwal, allegedly after being beaten up by students following cancellation of college union polls in Madhav College in Ujjain on August 26, has identified the six ABVP workers as accused in the case.
