The Justice Sachar Committee report on the socio-economic status of Muslims across the country will be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Parliament sources said in New Delhi on Wednesday night.
The formation of the committee had created an uproar in Parliament last year due to the panel's reported move to seek a headcount of Muslims in the defence forces.
The seven-member committee headed by Rajinder Sachar, a former Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, was set up to go into the social, economic and educational status of Muslims.
The committee, which submitted its report on November 17, was set up in March this year and its tenure was extended upto November 30.
The report came against the backdrop of the Prime Minister's observation that Muslims should get a "fair share", which triggered a debate.
