A DRAMA was witnessed at the residence of a government official at Char Imli locality where police conducted a raid on the complaint of ‘immoral activity’ going on at the place on Sunday morning.

The activists of a Saffron organisation had locked the house from outside but it all turned out to be a damp squib when the woman found in the official’s house said that she knew him for long and had an overnight stay at the house willingly.

The Saffron group activists had alleged that the officer was involved in immoral activity in the absence of his family that had reportedly gone away.

The doors were locked from outside and the police got it opened. The statements of the officer and the woman were recorded and the police left.

However, the workers of the Saffron group kept on raising slogans at the residence and later at the Habibganj police station for almost an hour.

Sources said that it was a disgruntled subordinate of the official who had arranged the entire drama and called the activists to tarnish the image of the official.
