Sailing school admission reopens

SPORTS AND youth welfare department has decided to reopen admission to the National Sailing School (NSS) at Water Sports Centre, Upper Lake.

The sports department in association with Yachting Association of India (YAI) has opened the school. The objective of reopening admission is to increase the strength of the school. “Our objective is to prepare players for 2012 Olympics”, said director sports Sanjay Chaudhary.

At present the strength of the school is 40, which is to double after opening the admissions, an official release said. The department has also increased the days

of training and NSS opening on Saturday and Sunday will also open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. School will be open from 7:30 am to 11 am and 3:30 pm to 6 pm. Students between 8 to 20 years are eligible to take admission.

Besides, swimming is must for candidates applying for admission. Interested students may contact Tatya Tope Stadium or Water Sports Centre, Upper Lake for further details.
