It’s an often heard story... allotting dates to a film and then postponing the launch.
The latest casualty is Anil Sharma’s Veer, that was all set to go on the floors in the first week of August. Sharma still insists that he’s going ahead as planned. But will he take off without his hero, Salman Khan?
The buzz is that Khan has alloted the same dates to Vipul Shah for his next London Dreams which also features Ajay Devgan. The film will reportedly take off at the end of July.
Work in progress
“Shah is constructing a huge set at Film City, Goregaon, after getting bulk dates from Salman. It won’t be possible for him to shoot for Veer at the same time,” informs a source. He adds that should Shah lose Khan’s dates, it won’t be easy for him to get the combination dates of Khan and Devgan.
When contacted, Sharma refuted the rumour aserting, “I’ll start my film on schedule. There’s going to be no change whatsoever.”
Inform him about Khan’s plans to start shooting for London Dreams from July end and he retorts, “I haven’t been informed about this. So I won’t like to comment. When another director starts his film is not my concern. I can only comment on my schedule and I promise you that there will be no change,” he says confidently.
The news in the trade is that Sharma has finalised Bruna Abdullah to play the leading lady opposite Khan in Veer. But quiz him on the subject and he maintains that he’s still scouting for a heroine.
