Salwan Marathon on November 6

The Salwan Marathon for schoolchildren will be held on November 6 at the Army Equestrian Centre, Brar Square. The marathon, held in partnership with the Hindustan Times, will see a huge participation from schoolchildren from India as well as abroad.

With a view to reaching out to all communities, the organisers have roped in organizations like 'Special Olympics Bharat' and 'Butterflies' to get intellectually challenged and street kids to participate in the run. UNICEF, too, has been roped in.

The organisers have increased the distance by half a kilometer for the run in U-14 and U-16 categories. Besides, the race for the visually impaired, students will see participation from 1700 students from across the country. The winners in each category will get Rs 10,000, while the runnersup will get Rs5,000. punjab police knocked out of durand cup

They were upset 0-1 by Indian Navy, the match winner being scored by midfielder Mukesh Kumar. Indian Navy next play I-League V qualifiers Sporting Clube De Goa in the second round on Friday. Earlier, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) ousted Army Junior 2-1.

Deepak, Vaibhav Shine in Ram Singh Cricket
Fine knocks by Deepak Sharma 83 and Vaibhav Rawal 52 and good bowling by Vaibhav Badan 3/40, and Navdeep Tomar 3/44 helped ERA Group beat Madras Club by 63 runs in the All India Ram Singh Aggarwal memorial cricket tournament at Mohan Meakin ground. Deepak Sharma was named man of the match.
